"Secret" switch and other mysteries.

  I'm thinking I should start a blog and I'll call it "you can't make this up"....
  While inspecting Alice before I make a commitment,  I notice that the 12V systems are not working.  Given that she was sitting for a while I'll give that the battery went down - stuff happens.  But why did she not charge while we were driving?  Here's were a little knowledge is dangerous.  Bad isolator?  Invertor went bad?  I don't know, so I tell the dealer to fix it and call me - along with some other things I found that need attention.
  Talked with the dealer today and he tells me he was going nuts trying to figure out what's going on, but he called the factory for help.  The solution?
  A secret switch we assume the prior owners had installed when she was being built.  Turn the switch and BINGO! everything works.
  You can't make this up.

Perhaps they are referring to the "salesman switch"?

Yeah, like the masons who put a pane of glass in a chimney- when they get paid the drop a brick down the flue.

One of the members told me he spent half a day trying to figure out why he had no power. Then, a year or so later, I was in the coach when all the power went off. Fortunately, I remembered the conversation I had and sure enough, Koda's leash was around the "dead battery switch." The switch is for coach batteries and does not effect the engine battery or associated electrical system.

The upside is, having "discovered"it this one time, you'll never forget it again! My couple-hour wild goose chase hapoened in the Tetons at night in the rain wherein I looked at many 12v fuses before noticing a living room chair had knocked the salesman switch over....
