King Tailgater Satellite Issue

I posted on here before about King Tailgater RV satellite systems. I know everybody loves them and they work. But I just finished setting one up for my neighbor with a permanent mount kit on the roof of his RV.
If you read the instructions close, it say's to point the carrying handle north to speed up scan. While this may be true, if you point the handle due south, it will not find the birds. I tried it several times to verify. As  soon as you turn the dish carrying handle off due south, it will work.
My experience with RV dish's is this, the Tailgater must not rotate 360 degrees plus inside the dome. Or if it does go the full 360, then when it try's to hit Dishnet, which is due south in our location, it hits the stop. After 10 minutes of trying, it gives up. I realize that if you are using it in a portable setup, you can simply turn the dish off south.
Lastly, the signal levels for the tailgater were extremely low in my opinion, although it did receive a nice HD picture here in the Northwest.
I have personally installed several Winegard carry outs, and this is not an issue. I know the signal coax is a nice feature of the Tailgater, too bad Winegard doesn't have that feature.
I don't sell satellites anymore, so I am not partial for any reason. Just wanted to pass this info on.
