Entry Step on 2002 U320

The entry step will not come down at all when the door is opened or the engine is stopped. The problem started when we were recently returning from a trip and initially it would come down sometimes, but most of the time it would stay in the closed position even with the engine off and the door opened. After a few days parked here at home, I noticed the step came down half way so I opened and closed the door several times with no change. Then I started the engine and shut it off and the step came back up, closed. I started the engine a few more times and the step remained closed and has been since. Coincidentally, the porch light stopped working the same time the issue with the step happened. I checked common fuses and all were good. I talked to a tech at Foretravel and he said it might be a solenoid, but I need more help in step by step diagnosis.

Also in a pinch, try the search function in the upper right hand corner of the home page, you can find a lot of info out via "search" as you wait for a member to reply. Often you will get to the answer faster with search, or at least get a start on the troubleshooting.
