Living Room Ceiling Light

I have been hounding Bob since we first bought the coach back in 2008 to replace the living room ceiling light.  In my opinion it just didn't fit with the interior and looked odd.  I did exhaustive research to try and find a replacement light that would fit in that odd sized spot but to no avail.  We finally came to the conclusion that if we wanted to replace it we would have to create something to go in there.  We bought a piece of walnut board 24" x 10" x 1/4" and stained it with Minwax Red Chestnut to get it as close as possible to the color of the existing cabinets.  We had 3 puck lights that we bought from another Foretravel owner years ago and we replaced the halogen lights with LED's.  To create a structure to screw into we put 1/4" paint sticks backed by 1/16" epoxyglass laminate (left over from the basement skin repair) and secured it with small angle aluminum.  We then put a screw through the puck lights casing into the wood brackets to secure it to the ceiling. One of our goals was to make it look as if it came from the factory this way.  Overall we're very happy with the look and it also throws out a lot more light than the old one.
