air leak

Noticed air pressure down to 0 after sitting overnight. Found driver side height control valve leaking out exhaust even when coach sitting still in travel mode. Went to level mode, and leveled coach and shut off hwh. Found hcv still leaking. I must be wrong in thinking the the solenoid valve in the 6 pack for hcv [travel mode] would shut off air to the hcv? Or, I have a leak in that solenoid as well? Has anyone seen this type of problem?

Jim,

I think you will find that the supply line to your height control valve comes directly off the air tank(s)s.  The solenoid valves in the 6-pack manifolds do not have any control over the air supply to the height valve - they only control whether or not the signal pressure from the height valve is being utilized by the 6-pack.

If the little rubber boot and felt filter fall off the bottom exhaust port on the height valve, it is possible for dirt to foul the exhaust valve.  If the valve is held open slightly by the dirt or trash, then you will have a constant air leak.  You might check to see if this is your problem.

Thanks, do not have any "rubber protection" on exhaust port, will check tomorrow.

Jim,
Air can escape from an air bag through a leaking travel solenoid through the ride height control valve if valve is in the vent position. Did that corner of the coach go low? If it did you can take the line off the ride height control valve that comes down from the HWH manifold and put the end in bubble solution, if it's blowing bubbles your travel solenoid is leaking.
If no bubbles it's coming from the air tank and is a ride height control valve problem.

Coach is dropping on that side. Cannot eliminate solenoid yet, but moved lever on HCV horizontally and could slow and stop leak if held in the right position, so there is a problem with the valve, I will replace and go from there.
Thanks all for the help.
