Trans temp warning when retarder activated while cold

Anyone have their trans temp warning come on, when the trans is below normal temp? Like under 180 degree's. It works fine, gauge and Silverleaf read 185-195 degree's, but then the trans temp light come's on for a few seconds, till you turn off the retarder. It can do it while cruising at 45, and you let off a second, while the coach is cold.
Doesn't seem to do it when trans temp is at 195+. I have seen as high as 225, and it hasn't come on. Engine temp is always about equal to trans temp. I realize the retarder sender is not the same temp where it is located, which could actually be as high has 300 degree's. But I know I am no where near even 250  degree's.
I have checked and cleaned the connection's at the trans. I am thinking bad sender?
