Mirror Arm

I need to adjust my left rear view mirror, I used a 3/8" ratchet and could not budge the bolt.

Would it be safe to use a 18" breaker bar?

Did they use anything like red loctite on these bolts?

Not sure of your set up, but I adjust mine a little differently.
I don't use the bolt directly under the mirror, rather I loosen slightly the two allen bolts just between the arn and the mirror head.
Adjust and tighten as needed.
Mine has a lot of cast white metal - I'd be afraid to use a 18" breaker bar.

If it takes a 3/4' socket use a bigger bar.

Thanks Moby, that is my worry also but I need to move the arm.  Being I am short and need to seat more forward that puts the mirror behind the windshield post so I have to lean over to to see it very well.

If you have a electric impact wrench a little blip might get it to turn. It doesn't need to be loosened much for you to move it .

That is a good idea, I don't have a electric one but I do have a air impact wrench.  I wonder if the hose will reach that far, guess I will just take a extra one just in case.

Start by soaking with penetrating oil for a couple of days.

Thanks Brett, I will give that  a try, it wont discolor the mirror arm?

Super most coaches have a place to plug in air tools.

Thanks, I do have a air hose in one of the compartments.  I am not sure the hose is long enough but I will find out  ^.^d
