Re: About to Decide on 2003 Foretravel U320 42' Reply #25 – May 09, 2017, 02:06:16 pm Always set aside $10,000 for first year maintenance, upgrades, and repairs and you will "normally" be fine. Start with repairs first, then routine maintenance, then upgrades or changes you want. If you are careful in your selection, the 10K rule usually works out well.(My first coach went over $10K first year because I didn't know what to look for yet.) 2nd year should be under 5K unless due tires plus upgrades.1st coach 83 Bluebird FC352nd coach 94 Bluebird BMC 37'current coach 03 Foretravel U320 Quote Selected 1 Likes
Re: About to Decide on 2003 Foretravel U320 42' Reply #26 – May 18, 2017, 10:08:22 pm We finally walked away from that 42' Foretravel. Just too many unknowns...and they seemed to be the type of issues that would bankrupt the rich. Oh well, there are others out there. We greatly appreciate your kind thoughts! Quote Selected

Re: About to Decide on 2003 Foretravel U320 42' Reply #28 – May 18, 2017, 11:29:13 pm If anyone, looking at a coach, an inspection by Kelly Truck Parts south of Nacogdocheson the wast side of Hwy. 59 S. They do a thorough inspection and will give a look at any mechanical part you might want checked underneath and can issue an inspection report. In Texas only inspection stations authorized can issue reports on vehicles with air brakes. They are tough but I would have total trust in their conclusions. Carter- Quote Selected 1 Likes

Re: About to Decide on 2003 Foretravel U320 42' Reply #32 – February 04, 2018, 04:42:05 pm For the most part I have only had a few items to repair on the coach as of date, did some work on the aquahot, replaced a thermostat, performed full service, changed our boiler antifreeze, oil and filter change, genset oil and filters, oh and I figured out I could raise the coach all the way up to get to everything so next oil change I will do myself, coolant bypass hoses replaced, new antifreeze, and all the usual small items like bay door adjustments, engine bay door adjustment, clean and redo start batteries, brake pad inspection and brake adjustment, as I said all done myself except for the oil changes. I have put 3500 miles on the coach already and it's a very sound rig, it does have some paint clear coat cracking but I plan to possibly get that taken care of soon. Quote Selected 2 Likes
Re: About to Decide on 2003 Foretravel U320 42' Reply #33 – February 04, 2018, 09:22:51 pm Sounds like mostly typical things .. good luck and most of all have fun.. now that you and your coach are intimate .. should be able to live and breath with it going down the road. If your not sure what I just typed, give it sometime and like relationships , it will grow with her (the coach) Quote Selected
