Old Volta monitor panel

When we bought our coach the PO told us that the old monitor panel, located near the kitchen sink, would sometimes beep and shut off the propane when someone stood too close to it. Since that's where you have to stand when washing dishes, this can be a bit irritating. I replaced the old propane warning box (near the floor, directly below the box I'm talking about) a couple of years ago. I'm not sure what all the old monitor panel senses besides propane and CO.

Questions: what would happen if I disconnected the power leads to this panel? Would that then shut off my propane? Should I look for a replacement monitor panel? If so, what is the current favorite?
