Engine torque

Does engine torque cause the right side of our coaches to raise while driving cause it's a diesel pusher? It used to twist the heck out of my GTO raising the left front. Asking this question because nitehawk is going to spend money cause his leaf spring coach at rest leans to the right. May have been designed that way.

I don't think anybody would launch a motorhome full throttle from a stand still, we have to buy the parts it abuses. Once under way there would be no twisting.

Phred, our coach sat in storage for over 10 years, with the two 8A/8D batteries on the right side under the steps. About 180# each. I noticed the coach had a bit of "lean" a couple years after we bought it. Then the lean started to get a little bit more visible every couple years.
Last November we hit a very, very nasty drainage half/culvert doing about 45 MPH. No warning it was even there. Just down a steep slope, then a poorly made transition from blacktop to concrete "trough" in the road, then back up a slope to level road. We hit so hard I thought the front end of the coach was torn off and we had lost our towed.
Handling seemed to slowly get progressively worse and was a nightmare coming home after we met you in Wichita. Finally decided, after discussing problem with the folks here on the Foforum, to get new springs and shocks. Problem was getting worse and becoming dangerous, and my responsibility is to keep my DW safe. When I looked over and saw her holding a map over her face because she was so scared I knew it was time to either fix the problem, sell the coach, or get rid of the DW. And I sure wasn't going to do the last two!!

Foretravel coaches do not twist from the engine torque thanks to the superior semi monocoque frame design.  However, amazed bystanders have often reported seeing daylight under the front wheels of my coach when it comes off the line at full throttle.  :o

I looked down and saw 2" of daylight under the front wheels of our 8.2 DD Turbo-charged 200 HP V8. You know, the underpowered V8.
Impressive until I realized the front leveling jacks had fully extended!!
I swear it is true! Re leveled and tires were back on the ground. (I explained in another post how this dumbass--no names here, please--had put a box under the couch that leaned on the HWH level sensing unit)

Chuck, sounds like the PO installed a very large auxiliary black water tank well aft of the rear axle and it's about to overflow. Should be easy to find, just follow the hose from the macerating pump rearward to the tank!
Oh yeah and get rid of motion of the ocean water bed.

0 - 60 in 19.88 seconds (3rd run) I can't tell if that's horse power or torque. The front end never left the ground, wheelie bar.

No pictures right now, Dave. We got 19" of snow over the last two days. A new record for the area. Now have to contend with blowing & drifting snow. Am going out & putting the snowblower on the tractor.
I think the big wheel casters were for the first owner who was an optimist. Thought 200 HP in a diesel was overkill? Maybe a psych tool for other class A owners?
Caflashbob maybe would know the thinking behind the casters. His store sold this "overpowered" wheelie caster equipped coach. :))

They were placed there to keep the rear end from dragging when going through large dips like going into a gas station.

Of course all this horse power is only as good as your coach is light.
