Quieter Roof Air

Most of you may know this already, but last week a friend came in our coach and I told him we thought it was noisy when the ac was on. He walked over to the main supply/return vent and slid the little lever in the middle to the other side. This forced more air into the ducted vents and made the main supply vent much quieter. I didn't even realize that slide switch was there. Now we just turn the front ac on and close some of the ducted vents in the front (forces more flow to the bedroom vents) when we sleep with the ac on at night. When it gets really hot we may have the rear ac on at night also, we will see.

I replace my old Penguin II 13.5k btu 2 speed fan motor units with their 15k btu 3 speed setup. I discovered that when the fan was in high speed it put out quite a bit more CFM than the old unit, also my sound meter measured an average 74  decibel. The airflow was high enough that I believe cause turbulence in banging off on the closed supply grill. I made an baffle that fitted into the small plenum that spilt that airflow by directing it into each ducting. Sound meter went to 67 decibel and 64 decibel in second speed after pull down. Being that both AC share the same ducting I too operate the rear ac unit in where the front ac rarely cycle on with 100 degree outside ambient. So far the DW isn't yelling at me anymore to turn down the TV when the AC is on.
