Light bulb replacement....seriously.

This may be the ultimate newbie question but I have a SERIOUS problem.  Can't figure out how to change a under-cabinet fluorescent bulb!  Really.

I have an 02 U295.  The cabinets have small fluorescent light fixtures below them and I just ain't smart enough to figure how to open one to get to the bulb.  Haven't tried prying the plastic for fear it is probably brittle.

Any help will be appreciated.

My DW is having doubts now that I am really a genius.

Try a small flat spatula or even the end of a dinner knife to get it started

Squeeze the edges of the plastic lens gently and it will drop off.

OR, if you gently squeeze the edges of the lens and it cracks in half, your DW's doubts will be confirmed.  Dw's like to be proven correct.  8)

If they are thinlite you can get replacements should it break. I changed a couple of mine due to yellowing.

Try removing the light cover when the DWs not lookin. Then you get creative about what really happened if it doesn't go well.

Strange, but women's flow charts appear to flow both ways. It was working this morning when I went to work, what did you do? Nothing she says, well that's pretty apperent and I wasn't here to break it, fetch me a beer, and I will look at it. Futher more, since my input or opinion was overridden during the purchase process it's not my responsibility so fetch me another beer. This is known as equality!

That sounds like a foolproof approach.  Think I'll try it.

It worked!!!  Popped out and didn't break.  Of course I told the DW that you guys weren't a bit of help and that I was able to figure it out all by myself.

Don't think she believed me.

For a small, incidental fee, I'd be glad to back you up on that.
