Roof Air HELP NEEDED

Our roof top air has started kicking the power off in our 1999 U270.  We suspected that the roof air units were needing maintenance (we think they are original - Penguin Duo Therm 620315 - 651816C851CO).  In trying to troubleshoot we found that the compressor is not kicking on - then we found the inside temp reading (when the CCC2 is turned on) is reading 32 degrees F.  I need to know a couple of things....
1.  I've reset the CCC2 multiple times, but did not correct the inside temp reading.  Any suggestions on how to fix that?
2.  I cannot find the model AC unit available to replace our roof top air (if we end up having to do that).  The closest I've found is the Penguin II - but am not sure if it fits electrically and mechanically as a perfect replacement.  Will the wiring match up?

UPDATE**The thermostat is reading right now, and the air came on as it should when on auto.  Still interested in knowing advice for replacement roof air units - as the back unit is toast.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Any advice and suggestions are welcome.  We are in a pinch trying to take a trip this weekend, and running out of time.

Do a search as there are many articles on this subject.  Just be prepared that if you put in another Penguin unit you might not be happy.  They are way louder than the older units and not as efficient.  I replaced mine with a Atwood Air Command unit.  The hole in the roof is standard at 14" I believe.  Wiring is same and no thermostat as it's in the unit which has a remote control.  Nice unit.

I replaced with the same Atwood 15000 unit and will replace the other unit this summer with the same.
Very happy with the cold performance and heat strip.
If yours are original they probably have seen the best of there years of service.

Not knocking you but what is ccc2? Answered myself,comfort control thermostat.

Not sure if this helps, but PO replaced original ac's on my coach with Penguin 2 units and the ccc2 thermostat.

Your units have either been updated to the ccc2 control or they have been replaced, make sure the fans are set to high speed to keep the units from freezing up.
 If you don't have the manual for the ccc2 you can find it on line with Google.

On a side note , my AC takes 2 minutes at least to turn on. Not sure what kind they are, or the thermastat... but waiting for that cool air when its 110 inside the coach... is .... hot.

We've had Coleman, Dometic and now Carrier. They've all turned on, NOW. Ours have no fancy devices, so worth checking out.
As far as the inside temp: if you let the coach get THAT warm before hitting the air, it will take a long while! We have a wireless weather station: when the outside temp hits 95, on goes the stern AC. It takes two hours, on full, to get the coach to where it's liveable, that is, twenty degrees difference between inside and out. Foretravels are well insulated, but twenty/difference is about it.
We've never needed (even in 114 temps) to use the front. Case-in-point: It's 104 outside right now, 80 inside after two hours of running.  ^.^d

Delay really depends on the thermostat.  Yes, there are some that do have a delay (to allow capacitors to charge after getting source of 120 VAC).

And of course there is a delay (separate delay) in the ATS when on generator.

On automatic fan on the Dometic there is a 2 minute delay, but if you put the fan on high or low the fan will come on right away and in 2 minutes the compressor will start.

Maybe will have to change out the thermostat. Right now the coach is not plugged into shore power. I will have to install one. Its totally off solar. I can run the front air conditioner off the lithium batteries with good solar and get 4 hours or more before I have to shut it down or switch to generator. I plan on putting in a 50 amp service soon. My wife just bought a plug in electric car, a Honday Prestige I think its called, and we will share that. With the Victron multiplus, I can limit the amount of current I draw from shore power to keep the amps down. The front ducted AC will keep it cool with the shades down. The rear ac will only run on shore power or generator.
