HWH compressor runs continuously

Parked and leveled coach.  Connected shore power and we went to dinner.  When we came back the pump was still running.  I turned odd the level system, but pump continued to run.  I had to disconnect power to shutdown pump.  Coach has set since Sunday night and is still level so no real leaks in the level system. I am reviewing drawings now.  Thinking I may have a seal leak but do not hear any leaks anywhere.  Suggestions for things to check in the am?

Did you turn the key for the slide system back off?  Compressor will continue to run if you forgot to do so.

Both keys were off.  I checked tank drains and all had air except the seal tank. Connected pump and turned on slide key.  Seal deflated and light became steady but it took too long and light flickered strangely before becoming solid  I disconnected line from compressor and I was able to hold my finger over the fitting and stop the air.  It would build up pressure but not enough to leak past my finger.  There must be a leak somewhere because pump does build som pressure but doesn't pressurize tank at all.

There is a pressure relief solenoid valve on the bottom of one of the bowls near my compressor.  The other bowl contains the desiccant.  If it gets stuck open, it will cause the compressor to run continuously.  It can be hard to hear the leak over the noise of the compressor.

I closed the valves to the slide regulator/vacuum generator units, isolating the slide seals.  The system now builds substantial pressure but never cycled off. I suspect compressor is so weak it can't produce enough pressure. I was able to get rear slide seal to deflate, but not the front, indicating there is a leak in the front system. Now that I have been able to pressurize tank, I am going to turn one cutoff valve at a time to see if I can find leak. When I return home, I am overhauling pump and installing gauges in the system. I checked separator drains and regulator vent holes in found no leaks.

Sounds like the pop-off/compressor unloader valve has went kaputski....

Here's a photo showing the unloader solenoid. It should close when the compressor is running to allow pressure to build and will open when the compressor shuts off the "unload" the pressure on the compressor.
I have had this fail to close when the compressor starts. It is easy to reach and if I put my finger on the exhaust port of this solenoid I can feel air going out. I can hold my finger on it and pressurize the system enough to evacuate the slide seals, but it isn't easy. If this is your problem there is a work around to energize the solenoid.

Just purchased a 2007 Nimbus with this problem - after leveling and extending slides out the electrical pump continues to run and the mechanical pop off valve( not the one with theelectrtical solenoid valve)  releases pressure about ever 15 seconds.  Turned off ignition and hit the emergency stop button on HWH control panel with no effect. Fortunately there is an on/off switch( non factory)  previously installed which shut off the pump.  Had it at the factory last week where they woked on it and thought it was cured but no. I am playing with adjusting the pressure switch spring tension to control pressure shut off. Next move will be to replace this.
Braxton and Alton have been very helpful on the phone but no cure yet. We believe that the non factory on/off swicth will shut off pump but prevent it from working in the "sleep" mode to check and mainain level. More later as we work thru this. Other than this -love the Nimbus!!

Turned off both regulator/vacuum generator valves after closing slides Thursday morning.  Unplugged air compressor. Stopped just now and checked seal tank drain and it had pressure, so no major leaks in system.  Turned on rear slide unit and opened slide w no problem.  Turned on forward slide unit and I could hear leak in assembly. I was able to open slide.  I will remove and repair forward slide unit when I get home.  I am also ordering pump repair kit because with both slide units off, the compressor never builds enough pressure to cycle off.  Likely it is worn out from running too much to overcome leaks.

I got a rebuild kit for my 2001 compressor at Zoro.com for under $100.  The compressors used in later years are a different model.

"The minor kit is C85493-P and comes with both the VALVE SERVICE KIT C85485-P and RING SERVICE KIT C87860-P, the impossible to get brushes are DC BRUSH KIT C85517.
The recommended service interval for the brushes is 1000-2000 hours and the minor rebuild kit is 6000 hours."
