Possible Voltage issue

Just pulled in to camp for the weekend. I got back into the coach to drive to the site and noticed the AMP gauge when I accelerated moved to almost 16v. I'm a guage watcher and on the way to the park it was about 13.9v.  Anyone have an idea what can cause that?

Thanks,
Woodie

Assume you are talking about the VOLTMETER on the dash gauge.

It shows voltage on chassis battery.

First place I would check is voltage at the battery isolator.

A bad isolator OR a bad connection from the alternator sense terminal that reads chassis battery voltage would be the first "suspects".

Brett I replaced the battery isolator when I had the alternator rebuilt about a year ago. I will check the voltage on the posts at the iso and report my findings.  The sense wire it goes from the alt to the batteries or the alt to the iso?

Either place is fine for the sense wire.  It just needs to see START battery voltage, so if you connect to isolator be sure to get the correct post.
