Window Security Alternates

We LOVE our MCD shades. We got them installed early in our 6 month "adventure". The standard FT window closure worked but with age they, for us, have broken as they conflict with the shades because when "open" they "poke" into the MCD's and we've broken them when closiythe windows with the factory closures partially closed.

We're inclined to use a "rod" with some type of "pull" to allow us to secure windows when we're gone but allow easy opening

Ideas welcomed. When we get back we'll post what we decided.

Thanks .

Sometime in the past there were several suggestions, one of which was a plastic poker chip. Our lifestyle has kept the coach either in the back yard or occupied. Now that is changing some of our trips might need the locks while we day travel.

I use a washer and a paperclip to lock our windows.  Pictures included.

I think it was Tom Lang who used the poker chip. If and when any of mine brake, I'll use a poker chip also

Don't forget to leave one window unlocked so you can get in if you misplace the keys or the door lock craps out.

Plastic poker chips need to be doubled and are easy to drill. But they only last a couple of years.

Steel core poker chips last forever but need a clamp and drill press.

I have lots of both types. Free if anyone needs some. I'll be at Branson this month and in Quartzsite in January.

Wasn't someone here on the forum going to check with a 3D print shop as to the cost for re-popping some latches?
