MCD shade motor question

In the process of upgrading/ renovating etc and need some advice. After installing new flooring I'm now ordering all new shades for the coach from MCD Innovations. My question is on the front windshield shade is there an advantage which side the motor is mounted since I will need to get power somewhere????

My old shade was powered from the drivers side, so that is where MCD mounted the motors, etc. And we used the two switches (forward of the VIN plate) that were there for the old shades.

I thought that would be the better location but wanted a confirmation.

When you go to program them, it's easier on the pass side. That is how mine came.

All new Ft have them on the right side. If mine were turned around if both day and night shades were down the day shade would be on the inside.

I don't think that there is any "standard" or "easier" configuration.  It depends upon where it is easiest for your configuration and convenience.  As you already know, MCD will build the shades in any configuration (both day/night shades may roll inward, both outward, or either may roll inward with the other outward, etc.).

I had our MCD windshield shades built as two complete day/night shade units, splitting their coverage at the windshield centerpoint (to keep the shades off of the instrument cluster, to create a (nearly) zero footprint on the dash and to have a perfect zero shade-to-dash closure gap when the shades are all of the way down).  My two rocker control switches are on the driver's left side panel, just aft of the retarder joystick.  The wiring goes behind the valance for the driver's "toll booth" window and exits the overhead cabinets at center windshield. 

The two day shades operate together on one rocker switch, the two night shades on the second switch.  So, for example, when the day shades are "playing out", one shade motor is running clockwise while, for the other side of the windshield, the shade motor is running counter-clockwise.  The programmed "full-up" and "full-down" limits keep the corresponding day/night shades in perfect sync with each up/down cycle of operation.  The four programming limit toggle switches are hidden behind the center windshield divider.
