New skylight

Pulled the bath skylight, man it was glued in. It was just starting to get water between the lenses.I had drilled a small hole to let it out into the shower last trip.
Turned out the dome was starting to crack. Ordered up a new one. Decided to go with white, which lets more light in.
This is the 5th dome I have bought from these guys. Takes about 2 weeks to get, they are all custom made per job. Great customer service.
I ordered clear online, then changed my mind. Called them, lady was super nice, changed the order.

Like $130.00 delivered.Shipping is the expensive part. Clear is less, smoked is the same price. Much thicker then original.
That is just the bubble. nothing else

I pulled ours a couple of weeks ago to paint the roof. Lots of work to get all vents, ACs, air horns, etc off. Everything had massive coats of Dicor everywhere. It took two weeks to get all of it off the vents and roof including the strip between caps. I used a HF heat gun and knife to get the Dicor off the heads of the screws. The paint looks good and everything is going back together on Saturday.

Dicor has to be heated until it's almost ready to melt before you can start removing it. Burned my hands several times. A small 45 degree air tool with two and three inch fiber disks took it off the roof and vents but a really long process. Used self etching primer and the white Fiberglas paint on all the vents/skylights as well as the roof.

I'm using stainless screws with stainless washers underneath. Oval head stainless on the plastic vents. I would send out a hit team if I knew who invented Dicor.

I'm leaving the skylight dark smoke as each time I take a shower, I can see the outline of the same guy that was on the wing of the airliner in the Twilight Zone.

I feel your pain. Try scraping on a rubber roof, tear, tear, tear. No one understands my quote when I do a bid for a reseal. I always under bid them.
My hand's hurt just thinking about them. Have you ever scraped Par bond , million times worse. You don't see it much any more.
