ih 45 quality

Let me start by saying merry Christmas to all. While I am not a frequent visitor of this forum and an even rarer poster I was just reading about the forum member a few months back saying that ih45 owners dont routinely post here and discuss the issues they may have, he even said he had spoken to several that were unhappy with the service and quality of their coach. From this point on I can only share my opinion having owned 4 coaches since 2012, the reason most ih45 and realm owners don't post here is because we don't feel we have that much in common with coaches that are 15 plus years older than ours, nothing to do with anything other than systems and technology. I have had a few opportunities to visit Foretravel owners with vintage coaches and no more than 4 others with 4 year or newer Foretravel. In my visits with each I have not found anyone that didn't really enjoy their coach. In all those visits with all those people not one person was without something to fix, my self included. Do they break. What doesn't, but this coach has certainly done a better job than my prior cornerstone ever thought about doing.
So starting tomorrow I will start posting and asking question specific to ih models and see if we can't get a few more like me to respond so that people may have a better idea about the later models, what we like and what we don't as well as issues we are having.

EXCELLENT.

Looking forward to discussions on the newer models.  May be a slow process at first, but please stick with it.

This is what we need for someone to take the lead.  As time marches on the IH will age just like some of the coaches here now and they will need info like us with "older coaches"  have now.  All info is relevant and will be of help at some point in time.

We are glad you are here and sharing your experiences with us.  Technology and complexity has evolved over the years but the basics have not.  No matter what coach you have you will find some help here, certainly some opinions.  And probably better than any of that some new friends.  This is a warm and caring community.  Let us know where you are as you travel.

I say first off.. Thank You for posting...... second I am a visual person and love to look at pictures ( reading is overrated as a picture speaks a thousand words ).. If you are able to post some pics of your rig Id like to see inside and out.

Communication and relating is what its all about.. even if its just a little bit of relating... Kinda reminds me of a story of war time.. American married an Italian girl who spoke no english and he spoke no Italian... They made it and learned each other.. Kinda like my 02 U320 and the IH45.. Little different language but its all made up in LOVE!!

Haa your daily slop story lol.

We all have something in common and that being we like to go down the road in a good bus. I consider myself a fan of buses, how new or old doesn't really matter to me.

As a good friend had told me that got me turned on to Foretravel is that they stay up at night trying to figure out what to break over night.

He was right.  Woke up one morning and 2 of the three bedroom shades would not go up.  I posted here about the problem and their deciding to loose their programming over night.

We're full-timing in a 1993 Foretravel. At some point we're going to want something else. That "something else" is going to be a coach that someone else has already purchased. Eventually we'll want another something else, and that may well be something that is now going through the factory. Much as we may like our older coaches, they aren't going to last forever, and we'll need to move to something newer.

Look at production numbers, and it is easy to see why there are more of us with older coaches than those with newer ones - more of ours were made. How many Foretravels were made in 2018? How many U300's (one of four models) were made in 1993?

You IH45 owners ARE our future. Please keep us posted on the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some things won't really show up until the coach has a couple of years on it - both good and bad.

We have a ih45, 2015', purchased at Mot on consignment,  we've had it now about 7 months.
Since 08' we've owned a number of different motorhomes, from fleetwood discovery, revolution, allegro bus and American Dream, by far foretravel is the best as quality goes!
Currently it's at foretravel for service, slide work ( not functioning as they should) and a few other minor things and it's ready for pickup.
