Shut Off Valve

This is the shut off valve for the ice maker and water filter under the kitchen sink.

I need to replace the stem for the valve as I broke the stem off, does anyone know if just that part is available. or is it best to just replace the whole thing, I do have the PEX bands and a crimper.

If there is a jamb nut under the handle, go buy new valve of same type and remove stem from valve body and swap them out.  Not crimping etc. needed.

Steve,

Those valves are common and available from a good appliance parts store.  You should be able to remove the stem from the body of the old one and replace with a new stem and stem nut off a new valve. You can use the new body for a fishing sinker. No crimping required.

Thanks guys that is what I was wanting to do but I have not found a valve like that yet.  All I have seen are just straight through or 90° elbows, does that make a difference?

Steve, I replaced everything under my sink I put a pex T in line then came off that with a 1/4 turn valve to the water filter/ ice maker the type valve you have and I had are known for leaking if you have to turn them on or off very many times

Thanks Chris I could do something like that, I would have to change out the fitting and add one more but that is doable.
