There are also four screws from the bottom that attach it to the window sill.

After installing MCD shades, we permanently removed all window side valences to give coach a much cleaner and open look. Greatly improved interior.

We first left sides off for a month, then put them back to see if we like it better on or off. Off easily won. Easy to fill wall and sill holes.

Because side valences fit up into top valence, sides to side measurement for MCD was narrower. With side valences removed the MCD shades could be made a little wider, now completely covering the metal window interior frame. With inside lights on and MCD shades down, from the outside at night, the interior looks totally dark.

We also had both MCD shades 'rolled-out' toward window. MCD insisted on day rolled-out and night rolled-in which blocked use of window sill when night shade is down. They finally made them our way. Rolled-in would not work with side valences removed.

Also, I was able to remove about 2" of top valence height when I went to MCD shades.  2" is a lot more viewable area on the window.  Really opens up the coach.

Rich,

We did the same when renovating.  Left just enough valence to cover the stowed shades.  Let in a lot more light/improved views.
