Fuel filter water drain fitting

I am wanting to put the proper fuel filter on my primary. I got the metal bottom piece that I was missing from a fellow forum member. The bottom 90 fitting that goes to the tubing is missing. I know what kind of threads are on the bottom cup but don't know what the connection is to the tubing. I tried a compression fitting but it didn't work. Anyone have any idea what type of fitting is? As far as I know the water drain tubing is what it came with from the factory... also pictured is what it should look like from a friends coach...

That looks like a common 90 degree MPT x DOT Air Brake Compression fitting.  The tube you are holding in the photo has the old steel insert still stuck in the end.  The replacement fitting should come with a new steel insert, but you can sometimes reuse the old one.  Just need to determine the correct thread size and the tubing size, then order online or can probably find one at a NAPA store.  If in doubt, cut the end of the tubing off right above the nut, and take the end piece and nut in with you to the store.

You could also switch to a DOT "push-to-connect" type fitting that would accomplish the same thing.  See 2nd photo.

Typical DOT fittings shown below:

Hard to see in the picture but if there is a valve before the elbow that you open when draining why even have tubing, just drain
some in a cup,if no water stop draining, the tubing just goes to the ground anyway.Keep it simple.
