Kitchen Faucet Replacement 98 U270
Kitchen faucet was leaking. Wife wanted a faucet with pull down sprayer in brushed stainless. Found faucet at Costco for $139 that included trim plate to cover the two holes from the original chrome Delta faucet. Main hole was a perfect fit, but ran into several challenges. The trim cover plate had two 1 1/8 extrusions to center it into the holes, which were way smaller. Didn't notice this so installed faucet and it was wobbly. Used step bit to expand the two holes in the Corian counter. Light pressure, big mess, went quickly. Harbor Freight step bit worked fine. Backing washer overlapped the lip of the sink under neath the counter. Ground the backing washer down with 4 1/2 inch angle grinder and then dressed it up with a file. The lock nut has two bolts that you can use to hold the backing nut in place, that allowed a solid mount even with the lip. The faucet came with two female 3/8 inch connections, Foretravel came with two 1/2 inch female pex connections. Old guy with long hair at Home Depot finally understood my problem and found a male adapter 1/2 inch one side and 3/8 inch other side. When all connected and after installing the sprayer weight, it hung up on the filtered water shut off valve and both pex connections. installed eye screw in backside of counter front, attached a mini bungee to a wire tie looped around the spray line. I was raised in Oklahoma where bailing wire is an all purpose solution.
