*new & important* toilet gasket.

New issue on thetford toilet.
Lost the gasket to seal the bowl to the floor
In sticks and bricks, the wax ring.

 Can I use a sticks and bricks wax ring and hold down bolts?

Not a good idea, as exposing it to the "earthquake" of driving down the road makes wax rings leak prone.

Any RV store should have the proper gasket.

The green one was to tall for my application but the blue worked with the original gasket below it.. seals up nice

Not sure exactly what I'm looking for as in design of part, just that its leaking from the base of the toilet and now the whole assy is loose.
I'm NOT good at actually DOING plumbing, may got a repair shop.

Wonder if the flange into which the bolts (see link in post #3 above) is broken or loose.

If so, it may need to be replaced.  Another option is to use this kind of screw (not suggesting this is a correct size, but this style of screw):

You might want to remove the toilet and let us know what you find.  We can help with recommendations based on what you find.

  One of the bolts just spins, so the broken flange may be a point.
  That's why I'm seriously considering a repair center.
I'm just not good at plumbing.

 Anybody know a good repair center in Atlanta?

The screw in my post above is a reasonable solution to a flange bolt that will not tighten IF the plywood floor is solid.  If not, bad/rotted wood will have to be removed and filled with one of the epoxy-based products, or if not too bad by something like get-rot.

I took some thicker sheet metal/ flat bar and welded a bolt to it lined it up to the toilet holes and screwed it to the floor and attached the toilet to it as the bolt layout was larger than the toilet hole bolt alignment

If that doesnt make any sense I have a pic.. just not very clean

If I were you Moby I'd head for a Home Depot parking lot, pull the toilet, take some pix and let the FT forum members advise you.
The HD will have about everything you need to do the job, and when it's completed you'll have self-satisfaction, saved time and money and be one step closer to becoming a journeyman plumber.
