Install Washer/Dryer in cabinet

I have a 2007 Nimbus 336 that has a cabinet in the living room area (see attached photo) that is supposedly pre-plumbed for a washer dryer. It currently has drawers in it and I would like to install a Splendide WD2100 (vented).

A couple of questions.

1. Where do I locate the pre-plumbed lines and power plug? When I removed the drawers I see spray-in insulation foam in what appears to be a hole cut in the floor accessing the basement.

2. Where do I vent the dryer? - I assume it is not through the wall (gel coat) of the coach to the outside - not sure if it vents to the basement.

I searched the forum but have not found a clear answer - most likely I will call FT next week and get their input.

They generally are vented through the walls and a fiberglass vent cover is painted to match and installed. Most have this done at Foretravel or Xtreme, or possibly MOT. You can buy the unpainted fiberglass vent from Foretravel. I bought one from Xtreme that had white gel coat to match our coach with just a touch of color on the bottom where it overlapped the painted graphics. I installed the vent cover myself (and the Splendide XC2100). The outlet and plumbing connections as well as a vent pipe will be behind a removable panel of some kind, possibly in an adjacent cabinet or closet. Some careful exploration should reveal its location, assuming it is pre-plumbed as I would imagine it is.

Pat, the W/D fits is a cabinet that is about 24" deep, usually a closet.  Yours might be on the opposite wall in a lower section with a louvered door. The electrical and water connections and drain is usually preinstalled.  The water connections in my coach are under a false floor in the closet.  If one has a floor that is higher than the other look there.

You might want to consider a stacked washer and dryer.  Splendide makes 120v versions.  Other choices out there as well.  Those with them report it is much faster to to more than one load of laundry.

You know your build number? Call FT and ask to speak with James Triana. He should be able to give you information where you pre-plumbed laundry is located. He can also recommend type. A stacked washer or over and under is nicer than the single wash/dry versions.

If you have the room to go with a stacked washer and dryer we strongly recommend it. The previous owners installed those in ours (ordinary apartment-size units, 120V washer and gas dryer) and they work extremely well. So nice to do the laundry quickly and never visit a commercial laundry!

I am on my 3rd Solendide 2100xc, all in one, and have enjoyed them in 3 different rvs.

I took out the new stacked washer/dryer, recently
installed by previous owner, and installed 2100xc, in my current U295 to have the storage in the top half.  This is more useful to us than the stacked.

Advantage to all in one, you load, start, and come back to dry stuff.

It will wash and dry up to approx 15 lbs.  For us we wash top sheet, bottom sheet, two pillow cases one day.  The next maybe under clothes.  The next maybe toweles.  The next maybe Levi's.  Works for us, instead of coming back to rv to load wash from washer to dryer we prefer the all in one.

Everyone's needs are different, make your own choices.  Google Splendide, pdf, easy to download brochures, specs, etc.

I installed a 220v dryer above the w/d that was in coach DW did not like how long it took to dry clothed and my heavy work pants never got dry
I got the dryer at Lowe's it is a small apartment unit
But fit the hole just fine.  Had to run a 220 line from main breaker box and I have not tried to change generator,  but the only time we use it is when hooked to shore power

Thanks for the great recommendations, I like the idea of a stacked WD, not sure if I have room. I'll call FT with my build number and see what recommendations they have.

Quick question: Do the vented dryers require me to cut through the gel coat to the outside. I wish I could vent elsewhere?

All Foretravels with washer/dryer vent through the gell coat. Maybe the newer ones are different.

My Splendide [in rear closet] vents into space between back wall of closet, and rear cap. Took a flashlight and a while to find it.

When we purchased our previous '03 U295 36 in 2009, it was pre-plumbed for a washer/dryer.  The following year we had FOT do the install of a new Splendide 2100XC and they asked if we wanted a chrome vent or a fiberglass vent painted to match.  We opted for the latter - and they cut a hole in the gel coat.  They did a great job with the paint match (see image below).

This is all great info, I'm taking a trip to Nac. this October to the FT factory and hopefully I can schedule the WD install in advance while I'm there. Or I'll look for a local reputable RV shop in Southern California that can do it. I like the paint match they did on Patricia's coach.

Our 2012 nimbus vents out over the engine. It's a bit of a pain, as I have to clean up any dryer fuzz after doing clothes, but using vinegar in the wash cycle cuts down on dryer lint. Do clothes, clean vent and engine surfaces. Could be my OCD is showing, but I am terrified of fire.
