Flushing Aqua Hot coils

We have a 2000 U 320 with Aqua Hot
Has anyone used vinegar to flush out the hard water scale in their Aqua Hot
Please advise, thank you

We still use that same basic procedure. Due to the hard water that we encounter we generally acid wash with vinegar at least every other year. If we are out at our hide a way in southern NM for extended time we will do the wash more frequently.

We use a set of water filters and a water softener with all incoming water.  Recharge the water softener based on hardness but normally every 7 fills or so.  It has worked effectively for us.

It is all on a small roll around stand.  Wheels and a removable handle have been added since this picture.  One of the easiest things you can do to keep you water system free of small particulate mater is to add a particulate filter.  Mine has an 80 micron screen (80 millionths of a meter, 0.003"j to catch little bits of sand, rust or anything else in the water and keep it out of your water system.  They are about $20 and you will need a couple pipe to hose adapters.

Since Anne and I spend a lot of time in the southwest we treat with vinegar every year.  Of course, all our water enters the coach through a sediment filter but that doesn't affect particles formed by heating hard water.

There is a lot of talk about keeping the water coils free of debris, that's a good thing, however, I would point out that not flushing your boiler is more dangerous because the pumps and lines get trashed beyond repair. Just something to think about while doing other preventive maintaining of the coach.
