Generator Hours

Thank all of you for helping me sort through everything moving toward the purchase of my 1st FT. I was looking at 95 U320 40' with 7200 hours on the generator. Coach seemed well taken care of, but seems like that is a lot of hours. How long will a Power Tech 10K go before needing something major?

If it has not been done you likely need an end bearing replaced and a set of brushes (if equipped) on the generator end. You can look on PowerTech web site for approved dealers. Not an expensive repair.  Other wise normal maintenance, it will run a looong time. Check the air duct from the air cleaner to the manifold sometime the heat gets to them.  Check the belt for the water pump every now and then. Maybe a valve adjustment if it has not been done.

I have about 7800 or so on mine also. No problem. Have read 20k + as long as maintained.
