Completed Awning Upgrade 1995 U320

I completed the installation of the new Zip Dee patio awning and Zip Dee replacement window awning fabric. The patio awning NX upgrade was rather pricey at $643.00, but (to me at least) it was well worth the cost. I find it much easier to open and close the patio awning with the NX rafter arms that attach to the motorhome and then swing out to the roller assembly than it was with the older-style arm configuration. JOR mentioned that he needed to lower his patio awning attachment to install the NX upgrade, but I found that cutting 1" from the NX upper arms eliminated the need to lower the awning. I also upgraded the center rafter for better support for the center of the patio awning. We are extremely pleased with the color and operation of our new awnings, and found the installation to be straightforward. The Zip Dee representatives were very helpful and cooperative.

Blue against the white is good.

I had to cut the NX arms off as well, the arm were to long for the bracket that attaches to the coach to fit under the drip edge. There was nothing in the instructions addressing this issue, when I called Zip Dee they stated many times the arms need to be trimmed an inch or so. I agree, the upgrade was a game changer, not only is it much easier to deploy and take down the awning seems much more secure when deployed.

Thanks! The original color scheme included brown stripes and brown awnings. We are pleased to have the blue awnings.
