Jim,

Of course you are correct.  I should have said that heat is produced only under high loads.  Yes, heat builds slowly and dissipates slowly.

Before I tightened the connections on the battery post that where loose I shot them with IR gun and those two post were about 5 degrees hotter than the other posts.  Not real satisfied with the install of batteries at the Orielly store.  These batteries had a threaded post and they screwed a lead post onto the thread post and then my cables were attached to the lead post.  These two connections were not lose from the cable to the lead post but the lead post was not tight on the threaded post.  Got everything tightened up and here are the results.

No Load
inside panel 12.9
Battery 12.89
Fuse both sides 12.85
inverter 12.85

With microwave on heated water for 2m
inside panel 11.6
Battery 12.02
Fuse both sides 11.79/11.78
inverter 11.75

At rest the battery came back up to 12.8 in 5m

Does this sound OK to you guys?

One other thing I noticed is it seems like it takes a long time for the inverter to kick on after I have enabled it at the panel like 5+Minutes.  The light on the remote panel comes on immediately after I enable it but no inverter power is getting to the microwave for 5+ minutes.

5 minutes seems like a long time for the inverter to kick on. I believe the ats is some of that time. Have you clocked it or just guessing?
