Fuel Line Leak

As we share a common engine, with many of the Foretravel folks, Cummins mechanical C8.3, wish to share our recent break down on the way to Branson, Mo.

Coming from the Injection Pump is a steel line which is connected to about eight inches of rubber fuel line to the output side of the engine mounted fuel filter.

The rubber line developed a pin hole, although the engine would run, it was spewing diesel like mad, indicated by the front of the CRV, once the engine was shut down, would not restart.

Very easy to access and repair from under the bed with new fuel line and two new clamps.

After repair, Cummins fired right up after a couple of coughs.

Safe Travels to all.

About a year ago, we had a leak from this exact same fuel line.  On our '93 engine, it was the original OEM line, and was a 1-piece metal tube.  I posted a thread reporting the leak, and my eventual success at finding a replacement fuel line.  The genuine Cummins part that I used is listed in the last post in the thread.  To save anyone interested the trouble of reading through the whole thread, here is a link to my final post, with part numbers:
