Progressive EMS

A couple of days ago,  went out to the barn to plug in the coach and let it charge a bit. Plugged in the EMS and it showed high voltage on both legs. Checked the plug with the meter and it showed good voltage. We had just gotten back 10 days ago and the EMS worked great but it had rained about 4 days. Called Progressive tech support, they said I had either a surge or there was moisture in the unit. Either way, they said they would send a new one. Great. Today, I Took the back off and there was a little moisture. Dried the inside with a hair dryer.  Also noticed the screws on the back were a little loose. Put it back together, tested it and works good again. Don't know for how long. Tech support said the new units are a little more waterproof. He also said to put a plastic bag over the pedestal to keep the rain out..... Don't know about that.

Ours has sat out all kinds of weather for the 5+ years we've had it.  Been rained on, snowed on, hailed and sleeted on, baked in the merciless West TX sun, etc.  Never protected in any way.  Still works flawlessly, AFAIK.

Ours had always been out in all sorts of weather, never any problem. Don't know what happened this time other than those screws being a little loose.

I had the rain get to two of mine. They stood behind them.

I can vouch that Progressive stands behind their products.  When I lodged a complaint about a loud hum from my unit (mounted under the bed near the ATS and CB panels).  They sent me not one but two packages with a replacement contactor.  It was like 2 different employees were in a race to ship.  I asked if they wanted one back, but they said keep both.
