Re: Insulation around the wet bay. Reply #3 – November 21, 2019, 06:11:40 pm There is ¾" rigid styrofoam sheet underneath FRP (fiberglass sheet) against the sheetmetal bulkhead in front of the drive axle, and there is 1 ½" of the same sandwiched in the spaces between the inch an a half square tubing frame of the compartment divider walls with FRP on both sides. Same underneath and above. So actually fairly well insulated...DonQuote from: oldguy – November 21, 2019, 03:11:32 pmIs there insulation around the front and back walls of the wet bay Quote Selected 2 Likes
Re: Insulation around the wet bay. Reply #4 – November 21, 2019, 08:11:36 pm Thanks, that's what I need to know. When I tapped on the back wall it sounded as if there wasn't any insulation in the wall. I'm in thepossess of insulating in front of the wet bay doors. I need to have it so it will stand -10 F and nothing will freeze. Quote Selected
Re: Insulation around the wet bay. Reply #5 – November 21, 2019, 09:27:56 pm I insulated the wet bay doors.. Cut out engine bay insulation and glued in.. Took a while to make it look neat but it cost nearly nothing and would have to help a bit for the owners in cold climate. If there is any interest I will take a picture and post. Quote Selected

Re: Insulation around the wet bay. Reply #7 – November 22, 2019, 11:28:12 am I'm fitting 2 inch Styrofoam in front of the doors. I'm also thinking of spraying urethane foam on the metal back wall after Ilengthen the drain line. It looks like I will have to remove the air bag in front of the drain to get at it. Quote Selected

Re: Insulation around the wet bay. Reply #11 – November 22, 2019, 02:22:53 pm I just use some of that 4" pink paper-backed house insulation cut to the size of the openings and stuff it in, then close the access doors. Cheap and effective.Mike Quote Selected 1 Likes

Re: Insulation around the wet bay. Reply #17 – November 22, 2019, 06:12:16 pm Done. If for some reason the problem is that you don't see where to attach photos in a reply, try doing "preview" on the reply - that should open the advanced option menu. Quote Selected 1 Likes
