Kool-O-Matic

The rooftop shroud of my two speed Kool-O-Matic vent fan is disintegrating :-(  on my 1995 U300.  I see the Kool-O-Matic Company went out of business in 2006  but was wondering if any of our members had found an alternative that will fit without having to replace the entire unit.  My fan, and controls, are still working fine.

Thanks,

Jon

Someone here on the forum makes them using computer program.... 3D or something. I have interest as well because I have a couple corners cracked on mine. Eventually they will step in.

I think Jon is asking about the roof mounted exterior cover.

The forum member (can't remember who) found a print shop that was able to print the inside covers that Dub mentioned. I bought one and put it away until my original breaks.

The printed cover is stiffer and a bit thicker than the original cover. The edges are too wide for the current channels. When the time comes the replacement cover will need some work to fit.

Will a Fantastic fan fit the space?

Mine was replaced with a fantastic fan before I bought the coach. It has a remote with rain sensor. I should put a shroud over it, just haven't yet.

When mine goes out I'll replace it with the fantastic fan The automatic one that opens and closes with the rain and the temperature.

If you do don't do what my brother did and put a cover over the coach, burned up the motor mechanizm when it tried to open.

Mea Culpa  !  Embarrassed to admit that my earlier shroud identification was  incorrect and that my problem is with my Dometic refrigerator vent - not the Kool-O-Matic..  Sorry for sending everyone on an unnecessary detour and thankful, as usual, for the wonderful forum support. :giggle:
