HWH Leveling - No Lights - at all

Howdy,

I took my 1994 U280 out today for inspection.  Upon returning home, the HWH leveling system appeared *dead* - no lights of any kind, and no response to pressing buttons.  Key was in the "on" position, and tried it with both coach running and not running.

My initial thought is to remove the panel inside the coach and check the connections first, and if all appears OK and no obviously toasted parts, look in the control box (which I *think* is in the second bay driver's side, but I need to confirm).

I've researched this online in this group, and found many references to *partially* functioning systems - at least some lights, or intermittent function, but I didn't see any references to no lights at all.  Furthermore, looking at the HWH manual troubleshooting process, this *specific* problem of no lights at all was not in section 2 (troubleshooting) of the manual. 

Anybody ever see this before?

There are fuses in the control box.

The first thing to check is the connection on the back of the control panel. They can come loose if not secured with a small zip tie.

This is a new one on me.  We did experience the dread "Snake Eyes" once, but at least still had power to the control panel.

Sudden total loss of power - sure sounds like Don's idea (loose connector plug), or a blown fuse.

If you have the B-2037 wiring diagram (U280 E17 12V) take a look at the under-the-flip-up-dash-cover fuse blocks.  There are 2 fuses shown on my diagram that mention "HWH" in the identification.

At the far right end of the fuse block, there is a 10A called "HWH MEM".

In the middle group of fuses, there is a 10A called "HWH CONT".

I have no idea what either of them do, but worth a try to check them.

The first thing to check is the connection on the back of the control panel.
Mine was dead in the water and totally unresponsive. Opened the dash hood and the connector had just come loose. Plugged it in and good to go. I was imagining all kinds of expensive HWH repairs.

All - thanks for the good advice.  I woke up this morning and immediately read everyone's responses.  I'll be working on it this afternoon and will report back what I find.

Hi Everyone,

Success!

First, I checked all the fuses in the control box.  There are quite a few, but they all checked out good.

Then, I went inside, removed the panel, and noticed a 10-pin connector that connects in the center of the HWH panel had pulled out.  I pushed it back in, and everything came up just fine.  I'm guessing it jostled it when I took the RV out for inspection.  Nice to know how it works, though, and I have a little more confidence now that I might be able to fix something if it breaks on the road.

Thanks to everyone who provided their kind advice.  I don't know what I'd do without this group of enthusiasts!
