Toad Protection

Installed a Protect-a-Toad yesterday so I finally have this toad ready to go (receiver, base plate, lights, brake). Forgot (like childbirth) how much work it is to get a toad toadable). Anyhow, I decided to use the Protect-a-Toad to keep the road grime off the front of this Subaru. Last year I removed the rig's big mud guard and since then the tow bar and toad have been assaulted by lots of grime. I had one of these Protect-aToads a couple of years ago and it did a good job. On this one I had to add a 12" extension to account for the extra 18" ReadyBrake mechanism.

We loved our P-a-T on our 2003 CR-V.  Unfortunately, could not find a way to adequately attach it to the 2014.  We still have the brand new one we purchased for it just in case it will work with whatever the next one is.

Years ago, Rick posted about making your own (for those who are handy with a "thread injector" and so inclined.

All my best ideas are knock offs of Steve and Michelle's. Can't go wrong!
