flooring-prevent road noise

We are in the process of installing new flooring.
We have it down to the plywood.
I happened to take it our to get fuel and noticed markedly increase in road noise from underneath.
It sounded like wind blowing but it wasn't windy.
We were going to just put the flooring over the plywood but I'm afraid that that wouldn't be enough to bring the noise level down.

What could i put down first?

Attached is a picture of what we are installing.
There is an underlayment attached to it which may help. But I'm not sure how much.

I am also in the middle of putting in new flooring. I put down a LVT undercoating from  Lowes first. Its a thin foam like substance with a foil top. Its supposed to cut down on noise a bit. The LVT I am putting in is Karndean SCB71 in floating floor. Pretty nice stuff. Has a sound coating on the bottom. 4.5mm thick. Got it at a local flooring place. Not available at the big box stores. Not sure how it will sound when its all over but  I am sure it will be a improvement.

I can't remember if any Forum members have tried putting "heat strips" under their new flooring.  I wonder if doing so would kill two birds with one stone?  Besides whole coach heating, might it not provide some sound suppression?

I know nothing about this stuff, or how much it would cost.  I'm gonna guess it is kinda pricey...

15 watts per sq ft = pole to pole I would think.

I also installed Karndean but mine is what is called "Loose Lay" (no adhesive). The tile has a thick rubber like backing. I don't notice any increase in sound over the original carpet.

We installed vinyl interlock flooring down right on top of the plywood.  No additional noise and love the flooring.  Picked it up on sale at Lowe's.  This flooring can be glued down, so if you have a slide, there is no movement.

My bad.
A window was open.
That was the noise I heard.
I ran it today and was as before with carpet.

I sometimes prop the bathroom door open to reduce the engine noise.
