Alternator

My alternative froze and the belt shredded causing me to replace both. Anyone else have this problem?

A few more details would be helpful.

Could you tell if it was the original factory installed alternator, or had it been replaced at some point?

What was the brand and model of the failed unit?

What brand/model did you buy for a replacement?
