That locking ring is long gone on ours. I think I remember pulling the plug and putting some RTV or somethng around the edge and then plugging it back in.  It just sits there somehow.
The locking ring looks similar to a John Deere ISO connector.

Those were made by DEUTSCH AUTOMOTIVE for Allison.
Is that a 6 pin or a 9 pin?
Seems like the replacements are plastic.

5 or 6 pin.  it's folded so tight, I couldn't tell exactly without pulling it out

It won't be a 5 pin.  After this storm passes I will see if I have a part number for the 6 pin or a number that will give you a lead. We are headed to our safe room.

It was late last night but  I checked this A/M  and all I have is a 31 pin plug. I know that is not what you have but here is a part number for the 31 pin and hopefully you can use it to find the correct pin number you need.  DEUTSCH  WT06B24-31SN

I dont know  what that plug controls , but the wires have evidence of over heating . Look at the wires as they emerge.
Preventive techno would unplug it and clean the innerds. IMHO.

Thanks to all who helped. I called Allison today, duh! And the Tech doesn't know what the box is that it is plugging into but he said that's an Allison plug and not to worry as it is fully water proof. He did say the 3060r and the retarder are very good setups and preferred it over any other engine brakes. I also asked on tranny temps. At 250-260 he would quit using the retarder until it cools a bit.

250-260 degrees F WHERE-- out of retarder? in transmission sump? out of torque converter?

Each can read quite differently.

I asked on the dash gauge. Where is the sender on this unit reading from?

Mouser or Digi-Key are good sources for waterproof bulkhead connectors.  FWIW you only need to install the pins as needed.
