Defrost fans!

Found these on Amazon the other day and read reviews and heard nothing but good things on amount of air these disperse!  So, got out my tools yesterday, opened up the back of the cabinets to access a 12 volt supply and started to work.  Not fun standing on a small stool and reaching up inside to successully located the wire needed.  I took the ground and secured it to the metal framing behind the cabinets and hook all up.  I can tell you, these fans put out some air and are 2 speed as well.  Very heavy construction and secure base.  These are not your cheap fans that look good and don't put out air.  These actually work!  Put these in for the days we didn't need to run the generator to produce air, but opening the windows up was just too noisy and really didn't blow on either of us.  Very happy and glad to share this with others out there who are thinking about the same thing.  Keeping busy upgrading items in the coach!  lol

I have posted these photos other places and this is the only site where I have an issue with the photos not showing correctly as taken!  UGH!  Moderators, can these be fixed?????

Looks good Joe.. I've slept many a time as far back as 70's with one like that blowing because AC that worked wasn't that wide spread in the equipment then. Those fans will work and last.

On keeping cool has anyone put the reflective coating on the front window to slow down the heat when headed west in afternoon

I had fans similar to those on my Monaco dash. In the summer I would face them towards me to keep us cool and in the winter towards the windshield to help with the defrosters when necessary. I look at putting on the dash of my Foretravel but the defroster
is in the way. I don't know if I could mount them like you did.

I've sure needed them when the outside temperature dropped and we couldn't see out for the condensation.    We have run the Roof AC on high in the winter to just try to get the humidity out in that situation.    It helps but the fans would be good too.

Thanks Chris;  coming from what I have seen you accomplish means a lot!  Learning as we are going!  Speaking about going, we are leaving our safe space here tomorrow morning for chilly Utah.  Heading to Helper and a workcamping position!  Hopefully, Moab and Archers will open back up soon.  We will see how this goes.  Brand new park and really looks great on line.  Castle Gate RV park!  Near here, give us a shout!

I found tilting the defroster toward the window makes a big difference. In my Sidekick turning on the AC helps a lot. I don't know
if the Foretravel dash ac will come one with the heat, I haven't tried it yet. I also use a dehumidifier so that helps.

I was surprised by this topic as I thought that those kinds of fans were installed at FT, reason being that my 88 GV had them when I bought it, or at least an older version. Yes they are great for defrosting as well as providing a nice breeze on a warm day. I had the people who do the tinting on our cars and trucks put reflective/mirror tint on the windshield from the top down 14 inches and it made all the difference.
