86 GV front furnace

A little help... we are pulling up decades old carpet in our 86 GV and replacing with vinyl flooring.... but we have discovered after removing leather sofa ( not original) that the side panel of the sofa is covering up outlet for the front furnace... looks like all the ductwork was removed a long time ago as this coach was CA based its entire life.

On front of couch there is a lower removable panel that hangs on hooks to close up near the floor below seat cushion but no heat vents in this panel....

Do we jigsaw cut thru the side couch panel and replace ductwork ???

We are Colorado and MN based now... need to use furnaces from time to time

I have added photos of our findings..
