Wiring towed to M/H HELP

Just put ready brute elite onto the jeep, both have a 6 pin connector, everything works but the left hand brake light on the jeep, checked voltage at the tail light and the left one shows around 7.5 volts and the right shows 10.45, both of the rigs have been wired for other vehicles before so I was just hoping to get lucky on the wiring, it appears as if there are 4 wires coming in to the jeep beside the power wires, I have chased then down to some weird combiners that have 2 wires in and 1 wire out that goes to the goes into the harness for the jeep tail lights seems like the red wire coming in has the breaks, have been it all day with no success, anyone have an idea what I have got here.

It sounds like you have a diode where the two wires come in and one goes out.  If that diode is bad, you won't get a brake light.  I know, as I have had that issue with my Equinox, which requires diodes for the tail light system to work.  I would try and replace the diode and that should solve your issue.  Please let us know the results!

Will do thanks, on the jeep I think that po had set up to tow on a dolly, thinking about it the brake lights should come on whenever I step on the coach brake, as the surge brake lever pulls on the cable. The whole diode thing was sure driving me crazy yesterday everything worked but the left brake and it only have 7.5 volts, I did manage to get some ground wires cleaned up. thanks again

Shouldn't be seeing that big of a drop in voltage. I ended up trying to get a more universal brake tow plug. I ended up converting to a seven pin connector that seems to be more of a universal setup in today's vehicles. I also permanently installed a tow light converter before the plug in the coach.

Are your voltages going into your converter correct?

Shouldn't be seeing that big of a drop in voltage. I ended up trying to get a more universal brake tow plug. I ended up converting to a seven pin connector that seems to be more of a universal setup in today's vehicles. I also permanently installed a tow light converter before the plug in the coach.

Are your voltages going into your converter correct?
The info in your attachment says it converts a 3 wire to a 2 wire but in reality it is converting a 4 wire into a three wire.

Checked voltage at the 6 pin on the M/H bottom 2 pins one has 10.4 and the other has 8.4, will try a new converter

This is what I will eventually mod to. Would cut plugs off and direct wire to my seven pin. Provides direct power to lights from battery being controlled by coach lights basically separating the loads. IE bright trailer lights

I have that same converter that I installed from Roadmaster. Works good. Also I installed a separate brake circuit on my Jeep powered by that converter.

would I bypass the converter with the tail wire and not use the ground on the out leg
