Side camera hook up question

Went to Kerrville for a no rally rally with about 10 other Foretravels. Going out(5 hr drive) my right side camera worked as it should but coming home today I couldn't get to work. Checked the back Of the radio when I got home to see if I Could see anything obviously not right. The only thing I saw was a red wire coming off the rca plug that wasn't hooked to anything. Should that be hooked to something?what powers the camera? Here is a pic of the wire and the camera... don't know what kind of camera it is...

Thanks for any info

I'm not sure what that wore is for. I've got this backup camera for a project on my Jeep that has one in it. I wouldn't think it would be necessary. My paperwork says trigger wire on it but I can't tell if that's showing an additional wire or pointing at the rca. Does it come on with your turn signal?

Looks like that red wire is going into the yellow jack. That is a video Jack. So my guess is that's the problem.

After doing some research via youtube, it looks like that could be used for a power wire. And where the end is stripped back a little I would think the chances are pretty good that it is. I don't know why it would be stripped back so little. Does it reach the blue connector in the picture? You might look and see if there's a piece of wire broke off in there.

I would think it would be connected to a key on power source.

I must have watched the same video a minute ago. I looked but didn't see anything obvious this afternoon. I thought it might be for power but wanted to research and get advice before I hooked power to it so I didn't screw anything up. I'm going to look again tomorrow.. I have been in there re-wiring some stuff and could have loosened it and the drive jimmied it out

If it's a trigger wire then it would go to a turn signal if that was your trigger. On my pioneer unit I have no trigger set up so it's always on. I have a back camera and a side camera.
Make sure the connection to the camera are good.

Checked the wires the PO told me about, all looked ok, there was a rca connection near the camera, took it apart and put it back together.. it works now
