Windshield - again. 94 U280 Grandvilla. ** WITH UPDATE**

Hi alll:

Just go the rig back after a few interesting weeks;  (3 martini story!).  Back to the space north of Tampa;

Anyhow, rig was on a lift for a few days or a week waiting new brake parts (rotors & pads & Lines);  Think it must have flexed.  On the way home afterwards found the windshields almost popped out of their rubbers.  Drivers to the inside, passengers to the outside;  Center plate looks twisted.

I remember that FOT back about 14 re-braced the front due to a niggiling water leak around the center and outside edges.  Now ALL the edges look about to fall apart;  Large 3/4" gap at top corner above driver at 10 O'Clock High.  Looks like glass has sunk a bit; (maybe the front has settled?).
Glad we made it back to the park; as wasn't sure about that for a while.

Not sure how to proceed;  contact a Windshield place and get the glass re-installed?  Might be ok for the short term, but would love to be sure the long term is covered as well.

Passengers side replaced about 2008;  drivers is beginning to cloud around the edges.

Will check the over and under in the AM to look for rot;

Recommendations?  Anyone have good window people near Tampa?

Aside:  Tampa Spring did GREAT work;  They found all the parts to replace rotors, pads, lines and cans.  Also found some rubber (like tie rod end type bushings?) in need and replaced them.  ***RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY!!!***  (They also handled the starter batteries, and an oil change (while they were waiting on parts). JR and Howard are GREAT!!

Rest of the story:  (RR can froze last month on way to the paint and roof shop;  HUGE shower of sparks;  Wife behind following telling me (LOUDLY) about a shower of sparks from RR;  On fire??  Anyhow, the heat melted the pad to the rotor;  even after caging the rear brakes to let us move, I had to use a BUNCH of engine , and suddenly got a BANG;  turns out it was the pad leaving the mount, as it was welded to the rotor by the heat!  Drove the rest of the way on just front brakes;  not too scary, but sure took it really easy!!  Then, took the rig from Clear Coat RV in Plant City;  (GREAT Paint and roofing job, btw: ).
And drove to tampa spring on the front brakes only.  Again;  very careful.

UPDATE:  SATURDAY:  DEFINITELY NOT IN THE PARK:  Went to work on the windshield, and got the 'H" strip in the center between the windows pretty much back where it belongs;  (One inside pushing on the rubber, one outside with a little plastic scraper 'lifting' the rubber over the glass)

HOWEVER:  The drivers side metal frame, (and windshield glass to the left of the drivers seat,) is still proud to the outside of the Fiberglass and rubber;  About 3/4".  We tilted the coach with the HWH and  In the heat, (we ARE in Florida) we got a lot of the rubber trim to move around and back over the glass;  but looking at the glass, it seems the windshield is setting about 1/2" to 3/4" below where it used to sit.  Looking in the front vents doesn't show anything awry (that I can notice) but also, no visible means of keeping the glass supported.  Am I missing something??    Due to the impending thunderstorm we covered the gaps  by the drivers seat with gorilla waterproof tape.  Stuff seems pretty bombproof, and may be a 'interesting' removal.

I think a big shop may be needed, and don't think the 'new' FT dealer here in Tampa has seen this problem before;  So am looking for ideas.  (Called a couple of glass places, and hope to hear back on Monday). Open to ideas......

This makes a good read for your issue: Dash loose / windshield movement

I spent a week reattaching both caps. Remove the trim, seal and glue the cap back on.  Large 3/16 Rivet between the screws.
 I did the entire trim this way .
Much quieter now.
 My bus sits just North of Tampa on RT 41. A little south of the airport.
