Re: Battery bay temperature in 20º weather

Forest, your basement config is bout the same as mine. I have temperature monitoring in the battery bay, then main bay and both sides of the wet bay. We have been in the low 30s and high 20s most nights for the past two weeks. Lowest temperature in the wet bay on the floor next to the water pump has been 46°. Lowest temp in the battery bay has been 49°, usually higher. I have the AH heat exchangers (2) in the wet bay set to come on at 32°. They have never come on.
I am using power from the batteries and charging them at the same time.
If you have a Victron BMV 702 or 712 with a temperature sensor it will show the temperature at the positive post on your battery where it is attached.
I have an 8 channel Ambient Air wireless temperature monitor. You can set it for low temperature alarms. I also have a sensor in the freezer and refrigerator.
This is a fancier version of the one I but about the same price when you add in the sensors.
