girard awning held alot of water after downpour

good morning,
a sudden downpour yesterday filled my awning with water. It was not extended completely at the time and it retracted with no problem. However, the awning is sitting lower now. Before the incident, the front door would touch the forward arm when you would open it without the awning being fully extended at a certain point.  See photo, the distance from door corner to mark on awning arm is about 2 inches,  I never would open the awning all the way because of this. the other two photos are with the awning fully extended.
I have seen a video on how to adjust the pitch on the awning / and raise the awning completely.
unable to post pics at this time

You are very fortunate that it didn't break the arms. You can raise it up with the adjuster.

Arms most likely won't break but I did see the tube break in half in Mazatlan. Luckily it happened in Mexico where they can fix ANYTHING for almost nothing, which they did......huh GleamB.

The arms on a Girard awning are totally different from your ZipDee

Was able to lift arm without any issues.
Also angled awning to the rear instead of the front.
