algae

replace filters and found algae slug in frame water separator but nothing in the motor fuel line filter.  Check engine light is now on and sluggish motor torgue with maximun speed maybe 55 no throttle response for more rpm or speed. Motor run fine on idle and sitting i can get over 2000 rpms Was told the lift pump may have a screen that is dirty preventing fuel pressure so computer defaults to just so much motor use to prevent breakage

what have people experience and the fix???

will look into the lift pump screen for one

You may not have evacuated all the air out of the system after replacing the filters but a good idle and lack of power with load is usually a restriction in the fuel system. Engine will easily rev to 2000 in neutral as it is not doing much work.

The frame mounted filter is the primary with the engine mounted filter the secondary. If both filters were replaced and you still have the problem, you could have more algae.
