Windshield rubber trim smears black

Coach is looking good but if I should do much as touch the front windshield rubber gasket with a cleaning rag there are black smears all over the bodywork from the deteriorating rubber. How do you all clean the rubber and seal it to prevent this issue?
Any help would be appreciated?

I believe it is called 303 do a search on vinyl protector..

Soft Scrub works good on aging rubber. It also does a pretty good job on removing the sticky from aging Ultra Leather.

Treated it with 303 will see how it performs.
