Nacogdoches Motorhome Service

We're back on the road today after spending 4 days at Nacogdoches Motorhome Service. I had made an appointment with them to install the new Redhead steering box and check a few things.

Once we got there, I decided to have them do a long list of checks and replacements for me.

To say they did a good and thorough job in a major understatement.  These guys were fantastic.  Bruce has always been great working with me on the phone prior to out arrival and once I met with him and Seth and provided my "wish list" they jumped right on it. Air bags, brakes, ride height valves, brake slide pins, AC check, tie rods, serveral small air leaks, new compressor in the bay, bladder check, and much more.

I had the coach at another large well known shop last year and "they said" they fixed the air system, yet it never worked correctly. Seth immediately went after it and found several issues.  We are now 200 miles away at a RV park and I am amazed at how well everything is working.  It now works like it's supposed to.

We drove 1100 miles just to have NMS do the work, and it was well worth the drive.

Bruce, Seth, and their crew are fantastic, and the work was exceptional!!

The price was what I expected, very fair, and their billing is extremely detailed explaining exactly what they did.

We left very satisfied and we will drive the 1100 miles again to have work done their.

I am in no way connected to NMS, and have no benefit to promote them other than letting others on this site know they can get quality work at a fair price here.  They won't let you leave until they are sure your coach work is done correctly. 

A Great place with great guys doing great work.  If you have issues, it's worth the drive to Nacogdoches to have these guys do the work.  Very happy we went !!!!!!!

My experiences with Nacogdoches Motorhome Service were equally first class experiences as those of Mark.
 Knowledgeable, forthright, caring, honest and professional in every aspect of their relationship with me regarding repairs and service on my 2002 U320. Last fall, we were preparing for a trip to New Mexico, Colorado and Utah and used our local Cummins/ RV shop for routine engine/chassis service and an obvious electrical issue. Voltage meter showed 12.8. $1800 later, with routine annual service completed & new chassis batteries, the voltage meter still showed 12.8. When I called that issue to their attention, their response was to check the new batteries, which surprisingly were good, and then tell me they didn't work on anything from the battery forward to the coach or dash voltage meter. Long story longer. They let me drive out with the same problem that I drove in with two weeks earlier. Not a recommended RV service vendor unless an emergency but I can't speak to major engine repairs which is a different side of the business.
Given my then current circumstances, I was now very thankful for two previous positive service experiences at Nacogdoches Motorhome Service. I called David Whitehead at Nacogdoches Motorhome Service and explained my dilemma and tight timeline. David got it immediately and cared enough to help me if I could get the Motorhome to Nacagdoches? Drove ~450 miles from Birmingham the next day. Arrived after hours and NMS had me a spot to park in with 50 amp power. AC felt great that night. The next morning I left the Motorhome with them and they would recheck all systems to make sure we were safe to travel. Electrical issue was largely bad cables compounded by the fact that cables were not firmly attached when new batteries were installed. Replaced battery cables and correctly connected them. Picked Motorhome up the following Wednesday, showed me the bad parts, explained what had gone wrong in Birmingham and assured me that all issues were resolved and we were good to go. Complete with David's offer to call him if issues arose on our trip. Relief and renewed confidence that all was now as well as can be expected for an 18 yo complicated motorhome.
Just a great group of competent guys( Bruce, David, Seth etc) who really go out of their way to run their business the right way. No games or shortcuts. Just straight shooters who appreciate and respect me as a customer albeit a vulnerable one who requires services such as those provided at NMS. They do things I can't which enable Diane and me to enjoy our Foretravel. Obviously, NMS is now my first go to stop for any Foretravel related service. I can recommend, with confidence, Nocogdoches Motorhome Service.
I have no financial interest here except I want NMS to thrive as a viable service option and not only for me but for my fellow Foretravel owners.

Just curious..........what was the age of your old batteries that Cummins replaced, and were they indeed the problem, or were you just needing new battery cables installed correctly?

I believe my batteries were installed in 2015 when we purchased the coach. No immediate access to my records so I can't confirm. Given what David Whitehead at NMS reported when he showed me the old cables and connections, it was the cables and connectors.  Expensive lesson learned. That's the non-mechanical vulnerability I bring to the Foretravel ownership process and why I am so grateful for honest, competent and caring folks like those at Nocogdoches Motorhome Service.

The poor connections may or may not have worn the batteries. They need testing.
