Haldex ride height valves

I was thinking i should replace all 3 ride height valves when I do my airbags. Or should I just replace the rubber parts on the outside. Anyone know what the valve is for a 1996 and where to buy them?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure the black ones are plastic. That's ok except the 2 mounting holes did not line up on mine. I've seen the metal ones on Ebay for 65-85 bucks.

I just ordered 3 of these Wabco 464 002 443 0 leveling valves which my manual indicates was OE on my 2001 u270.  They were around 50 a piece.  They are not plastic.  Got them from mpparts.com.  The Wabco part number i mentioned cross references to the Haldex. I am going to replace all 3 when I do my airbags.

Measure ride height.  Dump coach.  Refill suspension. Measure ride height.

Three times.  If the coach returns to exactly the same height every time why are you replacing anything?

Wouldn't I want ones with the dump valve? or is that separate

To #4,a couple of members have had them fail while going down the road,if you have the money to spend might as well change them.

That's what I was thinking, do them now when the air is out and hopefully no roadside failures

The "dump valve" function is built into your HWH 6-pack manifold.  You do not need the "one with a dump valve".

The WABCO part recommended above looks similar (but not identical) to the original metal height control valves on my coach.  Photos below of my OEM factory part for comparison:

Photos below of a brand new old stock (NOS) Midland N-15844 height control valve I purchased off eBay.  I carry it in my spare parts drawer since my OEM valves still work perfectly.

My rubber caps and filters were worn and missing on mine, when replacing the caps I had to clean inside of the valve before I put the new parts on,they had accumulated dirt, carry one for spare.

Good info guys. Mine are currently the black plastic type. I did replace the covers last winter. If I buy another brand, can you get covers? Maybe the Wabco or Midland are better than Halfax

I used a black rubber crutch tip with holes drilled and a piece of Scotchbrite inside for a filter for about $1.00.

I have had all of my OE valves fail in the same manner after 20 yrs. of service a year or two apart. Yes best to replace...

So to mount the new one you just position the rod in the same spot?
