Centramatics for 2001 U270

Searching the forum it seems to suggest that most installs of the Centramatics wheel balancers use 600-630 for the steer axle and 600-640 for the drive axle. Has anyone done the install and could confirm this would be the correct balancers for a 2001?

I'm going to tackle this myself since I do have the tools, safety blocks, torque wrench etc. My tires were new from Hermans when I purchased the coach in Aug 2018 so should I remove the weights when I install the balancers?

1.Yes
2.Yes

They will have 2 sets of holes, one set for "Budd/stud" piloted wheels and the other for "Hub piloted" wheels. Your coach has the latter

I can't confirm your model #'s but I can recommend that, if the wheel was balanced with them, you leave the weights on.  They aren't needed but they can't hurt anything either.  The Centramatics are starting with a better balanced wheel and have less work to do. If you feel like the wheels were badly out of balance, take the weights off.

Have you asked Centramatic whether to leave the weights or remove them.  I would value THEIR take on this.

My discussion with the Michelin staff mentioned all current truck tires from all brands are each tested on the same machines.  All are very close in weight.  Only small amounts of weights should be needed.  Probably why the Centrimatics work well.

I found my latest Michelins took up to 4 oz to balance.

Bringing up an older topic, but, while the seller is installing new tires for me, I'm considering buying and having him install a set of Centramatics. The 600-640 looks to be correct for the rear duals, but, I'd like to confirm that the 600-630 is the one for the fronts, the application chart from centramatic seems to suggest the 800-820 is correct (I've emailed them as well).

Just a confirmation that Centramatic 600-640 Rear and 800-820 Front are correct (88 GV U280) and fit up with no problems.

My 1995 U320 had stud centered wheels while my 2001 U320 has hub centered wheels.  The Centramatics on my 1995 steer axles would not fit the 2001 steer axle.

A call to Centramatic solved the correct model.  Will not take long to call them Monday.

I think that's what the new 800-820 model was made to solve, rather than having two separate part numbers like they did in the past.
